Quintelium is an artist based in Las Vegas, and hailing from the Central Valley of California. He has just completed his second album, Moon Waves.

Moon Waves is a step in a slightly new direction from The first Quintelium full-length, Memory Horizon. Where Memory Horizon was a minimal drone album, Moon Waves adds rhythms, chord changes, and layers of sound in a way that calls to mind the experimental music coming out of Germany in the 1970s. The influences cited as inspiration for the album include Cluster, Harmonia, Ash Ra, the second side of Bowie’s Low, and Bureau B’s Silberland compilation released in 2022. Opener “Kosmik Oyster” has a modular sound reminiscent of the aforementioned Cluster. The title track is perhaps a less subtle, more driving take on Ashra’s New Age of Earth, while “Continuum,” the album’s penultimate track, is difficult to categorize at all, providing the album’s climax before moving into closer “Nova Potentia,” and gliding off into eternity.
